You can search the catalog and read every product page without signing in. Dub Vader Gear does not use advertising or AI services, and the pages call no paid service when you search.
Signing in
Favorites and the patch notebook need a free member account. You sign in on a Wix sign-in page, with an email address and password or with a Google or Facebook account if you choose one. Wix keeps your sign-in details. The site keeps a sign-in token in your browser so you stay signed in, and removes it when you sign out.
What is saved
When you are signed in, the favorites you tap and the notes and patches you write (a name, tags and your notes) are saved to your member account on this site, so they follow you across devices. Racks you create, with their modules, rail settings and cables, are saved in the private Racks collection under your member account. Another member and a signed-out visitor cannot read them. They are visible to you only. You can delete any of them yourself, and the notebook page can download a backup.
Suggestions you send
The Suggest a fix form needs no sign-in. It stores what you type: the kind of suggestion, the module name, your message, the page you came from and, only if you choose to give one, your email address so we can reply. The email is optional and the form works without it. Suggestions are saved in a private collection that only the site owner can read in the site dashboard. Other visitors and members cannot read them. To limit spam the form has a hidden field, a short wait before sending and a pause between suggestions, kept in your browser.
Your collection
When you are signed in you can mark a module as owned, wanted or sold. This is saved in a private collection under your member account, with the module and its status. Another member and a signed-out visitor cannot read it, and you can change or delete it any time. The collection page can export it as a JSON file and import one.
Where to buy map
The where to buy page loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap servers, which receive your IP address and the area of the map you view. The site itself does not track your location and never asks your browser for it.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Wix, which may handle technical data such as your IP address to deliver the pages and keep the site secure.
Photos and listings
Product photos come from the makers' pages or from established dealers and are credited on every product page. Makers can ask for a photo or listing to be removed.
Product specifications, including named input and output jacks, come from the product information in the catalog. These public product details are not information submitted by visitors and are not linked to your member account.
